AETNA TO EXPAND ITS UK BUSINESS

Vincent Sai named Vice President and Managing Director of Aetna UK

U.S.-based health care company, Aetna, is looking to further expand its business in the UK by launching a new venture to serve National Health Service (NHS) clients and appointing its first head of Aetna UK, Vincent Sai.

The company, which already has an expatriate insurance business based in the UK, will now use its experience globally to provide advisory and commissioning services to NHS organisations.

“We recognize that every client is unique, and our approach puts our clients at the centre of what we do. Our primary objective is to listen to their needs, work collaboratively to design solutions and ultimately implement superior services,” commented Mr Sai, who most recently served as head of Provider Financial Solutions at Aetna. “Aetna has a long history of working closely with a broad range of stakeholders and our collaborative approach is a key benefit we hope to bring to our future work with the NHS,” he added.

“Being ‘commissioners’ ourselves (in the US), we feel that we are well placed to deliver a differentiated perspective to the UK health care market. We are committed to creating and delivering real change for our clients,” said Mr Sai.

Aetna has extensive experience working with public sector and government supported programmes as well as employers and individuals both in the USA and internationally.

Mr. Sai will be based in London. The Aetna UK business is part of the ongoing expansion of Aetna’s international business, with London serving as the operations centre for both the NHS commissioning service and the UK, Europe, Middle East and Africa expatriate business.

About Vincent Sai

Vincent Sai has previously served as Head of Provider Financial Solutions and as Senior Project Director in the Office of the President of Aetna, with responsibility for supporting enterprise-wide strategic initiatives that included new product launches, assessment of emerging market trends and key growth opportunities for the company. Prior to joining Aetna, Mr Sai was with Deloitte Consulting, advising clients both in the USA and internationally. He holds Honours and Masters Degrees in Accounting and Finance from the University of Western Australia and is an associate of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in Australia. Mr. Sai also holds an Executive Certificate in Strategy and Innovation from the Sloan School of Management at Massachusetts Institute of Technology.
